Again the guys from Eclipse put on a great race for there 1st round of the Jeep King of the Mountain series. The race was held at San Luis Obispo on the ranch of the Madonna Inn. I ended up qualifying second with Prokolp 1st Lopes in 3rd.
In the semi I meet up with Lopes and I made a mistake of trying to pass Brian in the 3rd corner. I was not close enough to make a clean move and I ended up losing by 0.9 of a sec. In the second run down the hill I beat Lopes by 0.58 of a sec but it was not enough to transfer to the Final.
I then raced against king for 3rd and 4th. King just beat me the first round but I came back the second round by enough to take 3rd place for the day.
The crowd was huge at the race and the race that is made for TV was once again ran perfect. The event will be aired next weekend, to get air times go to www.Jeepsports.com.
I fly back to Australia tonight so I can do the final preparations for the BMX coaching works shops I will be conducting in the next few weeks.
The next JKOM race will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan July 23rd.

It has been a busy last few weeks with racing BMX and also running alot of coaching clinics. I am currently in the States at the moment getting ready for the 1st round of the Jeep King of the Mountain series in California.

For the last few race reports, click on the News section of www.TeamWBR.com.

I seem to be riding my BMX bike alot better now due to riding my BMX bike a lot more. For the last few year I have focused all my skill work on my Mountain bike and I have found now I have had to adjust my BMX riding style and technique due to the shape changes of the BMX jumps. I am really enjoying racing BMX again and I hope it will not interfere with my limited Mountain bike schedule this year.

I just seen the new US Mountain Biking magazine and I am on the cover. The shot was taken from Sea Otter and it has someone going over the first corner due to some contact from Bas De Bever. I was fully stoked when I seen it.... Thanks to Mountain Biking Magazine for the press from the cover and a cool shot inside the magazine. All my new sponsors are super happy.... and so am I.

I will try to update more often, but I know the next few weeks are also busy do to the selection race for the Southern Zone Work shop I will be running is next weekend and the Work shop is the following week. Then I will be heading up to Moranbah running another coaching clinic and Coaching accreditation course for the club.

See you soon,
