The Tamworth BMX Club was the host of Round 10 of the UCI World Ranking Series this past weekend in Tamworth , New South Wales . With the 10 race series coming to an end this weekend, it was a close battle between myself, Kamakazi and Marc Willers for the Overall UCI Oceania Championship title. The weather was not looking good as it was raining through the night and all morning, it was going to be a mud race which we don't see too much in BMX racing.  The Tamworth club did a great job on the track as they made some new changes from last year.  Thanks goes out to Hogs Breath Café for hosting over 100 BMX riders and families Saturday evening.  Here is how the results unfolded for TeamWBR.

I was looking to add points to my UCI World Ranking as I was looking comfortable and strong all day in the wet conditions.  I transferred out of the motos and won my semi and found myself a spot in the main event.  With a great start, I led the field into the first corner.  Willer's popped a chain down the first straight and was out of the race, while Kamakazi was chasing down the leader.  I hit a soft spot in the track and lost a lot of speed going into the last corner.  Kamakazi saw an opportunity to make a move and dove on the inside.  I was able to pump back past kama down the last straight to the take the win of the final race of the series.  With this win and kama finishing second on the day, did not give me the overall all Oceania series Championship, but still leaves me the current highest ranked Australian rider in the World.  With the World Championship in Brazil next month, this is the final event for me to add points to my Overall World Ranking.

I will be competing at the 1st round of the Jeep King of the Mountain World Championships on new Percentage Designs Mountain bike in California in a few weeks time to hopefully regain my World title I lost to Micheal Prokolp last year.
