WADE'S JOURNAL July 25th. I am so amazed how fast time has gone by since I have been back in Australia, the weather has been absolutely awesome and they say this is winter. I sure do live in a Winters Haven. I had a week or so off and in that time I have been playing in the back yard as I am getting it all ready so I can enjoy the area when I am finished for the season. Also been busy organizing and getting things ready for the new arrival to the family. Other wise just been riding and training getting ready for the World Championships. I have decided to give the rest of the Norba series a miss as the conflict of races has put me in a position of not winning the overall title, the lack of prize money and also the arrival of my first born has a big part of it as well. I have a good chance to finish 2nd in the World Cup overall and a good chance to win the Jeep series overall, so this is what I will be focussing on, the final 3 races of the year. Also working on some Promo tours in China and Japan in the off season which will be really cool. July 2nd. Calgary was a cool little town, not as big as I thought it would be. The race venue and the old Olympic park was also a small area, but a great place for a fast 4 cross course. There was only one small hill to accommodate the triple event World Cup but they did a great job. The 4X event may have even been faster than the down hill. It was a cool little track but for sure I was not going as fast as other down the fast steep section of the course. I Qualified 7th and was feeling good but had a lot of trouble getting over the 1st 2 roller jumps. I was not able to pick up as good as the other guys as I would hit my butt on the back wheel, this making me basically jump over the roller and not being as fast. I ended up making it through to the main with some lucky breaks but did not take the win in the final. I had lane 4 and just did not get out as great as I usually do and ended up staying in 4th from the 1st corner. With this 4th place it now puts me in 3rd place overall by 1 point to 2nd place for the world cup series. Prokolp has already wrapped up the series title but I have a great chance on getting second. I will now be able to race the World Cup finals as the Jeep series has been moved to Austin TX, the 3rd of Oct. Tomorrow I head back home to Australia for a few weeks, it will be great to get back home as being on the road for 10 weeks starts to get a little crazy.
